Program Overview

 

The Oklahoma Healing Arts Institute now offers a program of study in Acupuncture, an 18-month program consisting of 3 courses, and 390 total contact hours of instruction, including Internship. A new Advanced Residency program in Taiwan is now available to those who successfully complete the Acupuncture course.

 

Acupuncture Course Prerequisites for Admission
 

The following paperwork must be submitted before an application can be considered:

An applicant must:

  1. Have completed the application form with a filing fee of $25.00.

  2. Have proof of age and citizenship status. (Copy of driver's license, birth certificate, and/or passport.)

  3. Have a command of the English Language, or provide an interpreter.

  4. Submit two letters of recommendation, preferably from healing arts practitioners.

  5. Write a Statement of Intent: (applicable only to the Basic Acupuncture and Herbal courses), a letter (minimum length of 250 words) hand written by the candidate which states his/her reason for applying, and the reasons why the choice of this specific education is relevant to his/her life goals.

  6. Set up a personal interview with a representative of the Admissions Committee.

  7. Admission will be denied for any false documentation used during the application process.

 

Acceptance

The Admissions Committee will notify each applicant by letter of their acceptance into the program within three weeks of receipt of all pertinent information (including personal interview). Upon notification of acceptance into the program at The Oklahoma Healing Arts Institute, a tuition deposit of $400.00 is required for the acupuncture course to insure placement with the school. This fee is applied towards tuition. If the applicant decides not to attend, this tuition deposit is refundable.

 

Credit for Previous Experience or Work Involving Course Material

Students may test out of any section of a course that they feel competent in. Also, transcripts from other institutions will be considered on a course-by-course basis for prerequisites for any of our courses.
