Class Attendance
-
The student is expected to be in class and begin
class on time.
-
Students are expected to attend all classes. The
student is allowed two unexcused absences. A missed day may be made up
by viewing video/Audio tapes of the class at the school. If more than
two classes of any course are missed, the student risks a penalty and
must arrange a meeting with the instructor to discuss the situation. The
student may be required to do additional course work to finish
the course.
-
Enrollment may be terminated when a student's
repeated absences from a specific course prohibit him/her from
successfully completing that course.
-
Absence from four or more classes, whether or not
the absences are explained, requires a meeting with the instructor and
the Academic Dean to determine if the student may complete the course.
Students receiving veteran benefits who miss four or more classes during
a semester will be reported to Veterans Administration for Unsatisfactory
attendance. Please talk to the funding representative if you have
Questions regarding attendance requirements.
-
Arriving later than 30 minutes after class has
begun will be counted as an absence.
-
Each class hour is 50 minutes of actual class
teaching time. Each clinic hour is 60 minutes of actual time.
-
An instructor for any
Oklahoma Healing Arts Institute classes or clinics
may elect to have more stringent guidelines for attendance than those
listed above. These would be in effect for that specific class and would
be announced the first class day.
-
Clinic attendance is mandatory on the scheduled
clinic days. Tardiness and repeated absences may reflect in the final
clinic grade.
Graduation Requirements
-
Completion of, and passing grades on all required
papers.
-
Completion of, and passing grades on Clinical Part
I and Part II examination.
-
Payment of all financial obligations.
-
All library and clinical materials returned in good
condition.
*NOTE:
Graduation from
Oklahoma Healing Arts Institute
courses does not
automatically ensure state licensure or national certification with NCCAOM. Licensure
varies from state to state, NCCAOM certification requires other advanced
courses from accredited schools. In Oklahoma no licensure or certification is currently required.
There is growing credibility in certification with the National Barefoot
Doctor's Association, considering its strict adherence to traditional
methods and its practical stance. For further information on the NBDA and
the degrees it offers, and on the Fellowship in the American Academy of
Practical Acupuncture (FAAPA), contact Dr. Scott Rigsbee at
